Lavrov, PACE vice president discuss 1932-1933 famine in USSR

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and PACE Vice President Mevlut Cavusoglu, who is on a working visit to Moscow, discussed the 1932-1933 mass famine in the USSR on Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Detailed exchanges of opinion on this subject took place. The parties particularly shared the opinion that it is necessary to take an impartial and depoliticized approach towards historical events related to this tragedy, which took the lives of millions of Soviet people," the Foreign Ministry said.
