Moscow, December 21 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Strategic Rocket Forces will have unified missile systems in the future, deputy head of the Moscow-based Pyotr Veliky Strategic Rocket Forces Academy Maj. Gen. Alexei Konnov said.

"The Strategic Rocket Forces will eventually switch to stationary and mobile Topol-M systems," he said.

So far, the forces have six types of missile systems.

The forces are made up of three armies and twelve divisions.

The armed forces reform will slightly reduce the number of Strategic Rocket Forces officers and enlarge the number of privates and sergeants, Konnov said. That will enable the forces to guard positions of regiments and divisions without assistance of army units.

The forces have developed a unique system for control of the technical condition of strategic missiles, the general said.
