Moscow, February 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Navy has intensified its anti-piracy activities in the Horn of Africa, an official spokesman for the Russian Navy told Interfax.

"The Navy command has decided to leave the Northern Fleet anti-boat vessel Admiral Chabanenko in the area until further notice," the source said.

Military ships and support vessels from three Russian fleets are currently operating in the region, the General Staff said.

These include the guard-ship Neustrashimy (the Baltic Fleet), the SV-36 (the Black Sea fleet), and the Olekma (Baltic Fleet).
