Moscow, March 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Military parades honoring the 65th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany will be held on May 9, 2010 in 18 Russian cities and in Sevastopol, Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In particular, military parades will take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Chita, Khabarovsk, and Vladivostok, where the headquarters of the military districts and fleets are based, and also in Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Voronezh, Smolensk, Tula, Vladikavkaz, Nizhny Novgorod, Novorossiysk, Volgograd, Astrakhan, and Novosibirsk.

Ceremonial marches of troops without heavy military hardware will also take place in 29 cities, i.e. Belgorod, Vyazma, Dmitrov, Yelnya, Yelets, Kozelsk, Kursk, Naro-Fominsk, Oryol, Rzhev, Arkhangelsk, Velikiye Luki, Kronstadt, Luga, Polyarny, Pskov, Veliky Novgorod, Malgobek, Tuapse, Severomorsk, Samara, Ulan-Ude, Belogorsk, and Ussuriisk.

Three thousand troops will take part in the military parade in Yekaterinburg, and three companies of soldiers will wear WWII uniforms and will carry 1891-1930 Mosin rifles and PPSh submachine guns. In addition, to taking part in the parade, in Yekaterinburg there will be a mechanized convoy including 90 vehicles, including T-72 tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, Msta and Akatsiya artillery systems, and Grad and Uragan multiple rocket launchers.
