Report: Russian surveillance ship adrift off Japan
Mar 21, 2010 at 17:29The agency cited an unnamed representative of Russia's Pacific Fleet as saying the ship Pribaltika reported that water was coming into its engine room, forcing shutdown of the main engine.
The report said the ship was being taken by currents toward the Japanese island of Tsushima.
There are about 170 crew aboard the ship, according to the report.
A spokesman for the Russian Navy, Capt. Igor Dygalo, declined immediate comment to The Associated Press.
