Airliner falls apart approaching runway of Moscow's Domodedovo airport

A Tupolev Tu-204 airliner fell apart during an emergency landing near Moscow's Domodedovo airport, spokesperson for the regional department of the Emergency Situations' Ministry Svetlana Anatolyeva has told Interfax.

"The Tu-204 fell apart approaching the airport's runway. There was no fire aboard," she said.

She added that four crewmembers were taken to an intensive care unit following the crash. The 32-year-old captain, 52-year old flight engineer, 34-year-old pilot and 46-year-old flight attendant were badly injured in the crash, she said.

Different sources say there were eight or nine people aboard, all of them crewmembers.
