Baikonur, April 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Space tourism programs will resume after the Energia Aerospace Corporation modernizes itself to produce more spaceships annually, Energia President and General Designer Vitaly Lopota said on Thursday.

"There are purely commercial orders and a certain number of space tourists. India wishes to fly with our technologies. We can provide this possibility after 2012 when our technological abilities broaden," he said.

People are in line for seats in Russia’s Soyuz manned spaceships, Lopota said.

It takes 2.5-3 years to build a spaceship now, but high technologies will speed up the production process, he said.
