MOSCOW - The Collective Security Treaty Organization's Collective Operational Reaction Force (CORF) will not engage in settling the crisis in Kyrgyzstan, a high-ranking CSTO source told Interfax on Wednesday.

"The CORF of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is not intended to interfere with internal political conflicts on the territories of CSTO member-states," he said.

CORF, which includes, in particular, special security and police troops, can be engaged in counter-terrorism and to counter extremists, he said.

"But such a decision can only be made by the CSTO Collective Security Council, whose members are the leaders of the countries making up the organization, in response to a request by one of the countries," he said.

The CORF comprises troops from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
