The Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office has received a package of documents from Kyrgyzstan, on the extradition of ousted President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, spokesman for the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office Pyotr Kyselyov told Interfax.

"The documents are being looked at," he said. The Belarusian Prosecutor General’s Office received a request for Bakiyev’s extradition by fax on May 11, which is 18-page in all. Criminal charges were brought against Bakiyev in Kyrgyzstan, including charges of mass killings, committed during clashes between opposition and police on April 7. The country’s interim government passed a decree, stripping Bakiyev of his immunity and ex-president status.
