Minsk, July 7 (Interfax) - Ousted Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev has said that his younger brother Zhanybek has not been staying in Belarus together with him.

"Last time, I saw my brother Zhanybek in Jalal-Abad in the south of the country in April when I was leaving Kyrgyzstan," Bakiyev told Interfax on Wednesday.

The ex-president confirmed that he still regarded Kyrgyzstan’s new authorities as illegitimate, given the conditions in which the June 27 constitutional referendum was held.

For his part, Azimbek Beknazarov, deputy chairman of the Kyrgyz interim government, said on Wednesday that "there is information confirming that Kurmanbek Bakiyev’s younger brother Zhanybek is staying in Belarus as well."
