Russia's Moskva missile cruiser has left the country's Far East port of Vladivostok for its home base in Ukraine, according to the RIA Novosti news agency Wednesday.

"After a short rest in Vladivostok, the Moskva set off for the Black Sea to its home base in the port of Sevastopol. It will have to pass across the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans," a navy spokesman said.

Earlier, the cruiser participated in the joint military wargames, Vostok 2010, with flagships from Russia’s Northern and Pacific fleets.

Russia’s Black Sea Fleet is based at Sevastopol under a lease agreement with the Ukrainian government, which has been extended till 2042.

The Vostok 2010 exercises, strategic command drills held every two years, involved some 20,000 troops and 2,500 pieces of hardware.
