At least two people have been killed after a Dagestan Airlines passenger jet crash landed at Moscow's Domodedovo airport on Saturday, the Investigative Committee said.

"Preliminary reports indicate that two people were killed in an emergency landing of a Tu-154 plane at Domodedovo airport. Several dozens of others sustained injuries and are receiving medical aid now," spokesperson Tatyana Morozova told Interfax.

According to law enforcement agencies, the plane took off from Vnukovo, another Moscow airport, and had to land at Domodedovo with all three of its engines down.

Ambulances are rushing to the scene to deliver the casualties to hospitals.

A team of investigators has also been dispatched to the scene.

The Emergency Situations Ministry said earlier that one person had been killed and eight others injured.

"A Tu-154 en route from Moscow to Makhachkala [capital of the Dagestan republic] made an emergency landing at Domodedovo airport after all of its three engines failed," the ministry told Interfax.

The plane overran the runway and sustained considerable mechanical damage, it said.
