Twenty people, who came to the Moscow Khamovnichesky District Court on Monday to support former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky and former Menatep Group head Platon Lebedev were detained.

The police told the protesters to fold their placards but they disobeyed and were detained one by one.

The police used force in every detention, and several officers wrestled with every protester. The protesters resisted arrest, and one of them broke a tree limb he was holding on to.

"Down with the Police State", people were shouting as the detentions were taking place.

Three detainees are women, one of them elderly. There is an elderly man among the detainees, as well. Bystanders tried to intervene and shame the police for detaining women and elderly people.
