Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has welcomed the "strategic partnership" between Azerbaijan and Ukraine ahead of an official visit to Baku. "Our countries have established and operate a unique, top-level bilateral organization - the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, which meets on regular basis," Yanukovych said in an interview with Azerbaijani news agency Trend. "The Council of Presidents, which has proved to be an efficient mechanism to realize the existing potential for cooperation between the two countries on the full range of interaction, will convene its third meeting during my visit to Azerbaijan."
