Ukrainian parliamentarians passed a sweeping anti-corruption bill on March 18, a move which sees government officials and their family members required to disclose their expenditures and incomes for the public register. The bill received strong support in the parliamentary assembly, the Rada, passing with support of 330 members of parliament out of 409 present and well above the required threshold of 226. For now, however, we are holding our business environment rating for Ukraine at 46.5 (out of 100) as we believe that weak implementation of the terms under the new regulations may prevent a material improvement in the battle against corruption in Ukraine.Read the story here
