WHAT:
The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, in co-sponsorship with the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus, will host a very special event commemorating the 20th anniversary of Ukrainian Independence in the United States Congress.
The celebratory event will feature a formal luncheon with a presentation of special awards to Members of Congress for their role and support in helping to achieve and sustain Ukraine’s independence. Nominations are currently being accepted from Ukrainian communities throughout the United States recommending their legislators, past or present, who have significantly contributed to Ukraine’s independence and path towards democracy. Following the formal luncheon, a panel discussion entitled "Perspectives of Ukraine’s Independence" will be held. The roundtable discussion will provide an opportunity to focus on the Ukrainian American community’s and the U.S. government’s role in assisting Ukraine in attaining its independence and sustaining its freedom.
