Strauss-Kahn: 'The big problem for me is Ukraine'

Nov 3, 2009 at 10:40
According to a Financial Times report, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, head of the International Monetary Fund, described Ukraine as the 'big problem.'

When asked about central and eastern Europe, a region hit hardest by this year's recession, he said:“the big problem for me is Ukraine”.
The comment comes days after Strauss-Kahn warned that Ukraine could be cut off from further IMF assistance after President Victor Yushchenko signed a populist wage and pension increase into law in a move which analysts say is intended to sabotage the government of his rival, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
