Ukrainian footballers past and present were deadly serious as the former Soviet republic counted down to a friendly against mighty Brazil, according to Saturday news reports.

"We have a chance to test ourselves against an extremely strong side, so now we are preparing ourselves mentally," said Dynamo Kiev striker Artem Milievsky.

"You don’t play against Brazil every day," Milievsky said, in comments to Inter television.

Ukraine as a host nation along with Poland is already qualified to play in the Euro 2012 championship. The side, led by recently- appointed coach Yury Kalitvintsev, is scheduled to fly to Derby, England for a Monday match against Brazil.
