Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov issued an unusual instruction on Thursday: “to track down by all means Kiev Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky”. The instruction was forwarded to head of the Kiev city administration Alexander Popov. “Find the mayor by all means. Tell him that Kievans are missing him, want to see him very much and ask him to get down to work at the earliest,” the premier said without concealing irony. Chernovetsky is out of Kiev since last summer, and nobody knows for sure his whereabouts. On Wednesday, reporters asked Popov about the mayor’s whereabouts, but received an illusive reply: “We are maintaining contacts with him.” Read more.
