U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton today called on Ukraine to step up efforts to improve the rule of law and protect the freedom of speech. Clinton spoke after a meeting in Washington with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko. Clinton said the United States is looking to Ukraine to continue the commitments it has made for transparent government, the rule of law, protection of freedom of speech and media, [and] comprehensive judicial reform.
