Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has promised Ukrainian border guards to improve the provision of the State Border Service with technical equipment and raise the guards' standard of living.
‘The state will do everything for the defenders of state borders be secure and protected. This concerns the improvement of the technical provisions of your department, the continuation of the borders’ improvement, and, of course, an increase in the standard of living of employees," Yanukovych said in his address to border guards, the presidential press service reported.
President Yanukovych said he understood that border guards protected not just the interests of Ukraine from serious challenges and threats, but the international community as well.
The president also congratulated border guards on their professional holiday, marked on May 28, and wished them and their families health, happiness, well-being and prosperity.
