PARIS (AP) — A judicial official says that Dominique Strauss-Kahn's second wife has been questioned about a French writer's accusation that the former chief of the International Monetary Fund tried to rape her.

Brigitte Guillemette was the third person questioned in the French probe. Guillemette is the godmother of the writer, Tristane Banon.

Banon says that Strauss-Kahn attacked her while she was interviewing him for a book in 2003. Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers have filed a complaint accusing her of slander.

Strauss-Kahn is currently in New York with his third wife awaiting a court hearing in a case in which he is charged with trying to rape a hotel maid. He denies wrongdoing.

The French judicial official spoke Monday on condition of anonymity because the investigation is under way.
