VILNIUS, Lithuania (AP) — Lithuanian police said that two more planes landing at Vilnius International Airport on Thursday night were targeted by a bright green laser light that temporarily blinded the pilots.

Both planes landed safely, but police said officers who drove to the area where the high-powered light beam originated were unable to spot the source.

It was the third consecutive night that planes landing in Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital, were targeted by the laser lights.

Police spokesman Paulius Radvilavicius said earlier that investigators have appealed to the public for any information about the attacks, which are powerful enough to cause permanent eye damage.

Powerful laser lights made in China or Russia can be purchased on the Internet for about €20 ($30).
