ANKARA, Turkey — Turkey's state news agency says three people have been injured in an explosion at a university in Istanbul.

The Anadolu Agency said the blast occurred in a restroom of the Istanbul University on Tuesday. It says the cause of the blast is not clear.

Kurdish, leftist and radical Islamic militants have carried out bomb attacks in Istanbul in the past. But it is not clear whether the blast was an act of terrorism.
