Belarus blocks entry of U.S., Australian actresses
October 06, 2008 at 13:56The director of the banned Free Theater company says American actress Stephanie Pan and Australian Esther Mugambe were refused entry at the airport in capital Minsk on Sunday.
Nikolai Khalezin says the two actresses had been invited to perform with the dissident theater.
Airport spokesman Alexander Trukhanovich says the women will be sent on a return flight to Prague on Monday.
Authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko has suppressed opposition and independent news media.
