Lithuania resists NATO plans to re-engage Moscow, 7 months after ties soured over Georgia war

US Secretary of States Hillary Rodham Clinton hoped to get a deal on re-engaging with Moscow at a meeting Thursday with her NATO counterparts in Brussels.
But diplomats said Lithuania, a one-time Soviet state, did not want to rush the issue.
NATO's relations with Moscow hit a low after Russia briefly went to war against Georgia last August.
Repairing the frayed relationship could boost President Barack Obama's bid for a stronger bond with Moscow after years of tensions during the Bush administration.
