New Zealand's Health Minister Tony Ryall says the number of swine flu cases there is now 14.

In Australia, where officials were testing more than 100 people with flu symptoms for possible swine flu, Health Minister Nicola Roxon said the government had stepped up the health authority powers, including detaining uncooperative people.

South Koreans officials said they are testing five people with flu-like symptoms for possible swine flu.

Malaysian Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai said one person was "under close observation."

In Hong Kong, two people with flu-like symptoms recently in the United States are being tested for swine flu.
