Health ministry says first Dutch swine flu case confirmed

THE HAGUE, Netherlands - The Dutch government says a 3-year-old child who recently returned from Mexico is the country's first confirmed case of swine flu.

Health Minister Ab Klink says the child is receiving treatment and is recovering well. The child's family also is being treated and has been quarantined as a precaution.

Klink said at a press conference Thursday that the family returned from a party in Mexico on April 27 and the child became sick after getting home. He gave no further details of the family.

The flu case was confirmed by the government's Institute of Public Health and Environment.
