MOSCOW - Russia and China called for calm on Saturday after North Korea stoked regional tensions by firing ballistic missiles.

Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Russia and China had agreed that all sides should refrain from any steps that could further destabilise the region.

The two countries called for a return to six-party talks, the ministry said.
