ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Publisher and journalist Christos Lambrakis, who headed Greece's largest media group for decades, has died aged 74.

His publishing company, Lambrakis Press SA, says Lambrakis died in the Athens Onassis hospitalDec. 21following long treatment for heart disease.

Lambrakis inherited a media group founded by his father Christos, who died in 1957. He expanded it to include some 20 newspaper and magazine titles, including respected dailies Ta Nea and To Vima, as well as a stake in private Mega TV.

Lambrakis never married. No funeral arrangements have been announced.
