WASHINGTON, Dec 31 (Reuters) - The CIA confirmed that seven of its employees were killed and six were injured in an attack on a base in Afghanistan on Wednesday.

In a statement, the CIA said it would not release the names of those killed or provide details about the work they were doing for the agency, citing "the sensitivity of their mission and other ongoing operations."
