European Union police attacked in Kosovo
Mar 13, 2010 at 18:13The attack happened early Saturday in Kosovo's heavily Serbian northern tip bordering Serbia. The 2,000-strong EU police mission condemned the act, saying it damages the region's efforts to one day join the EU.
The border post was torched in 2008 by a mob of angry Serbs protesting Kosovo declaration of independence from Serbia. Serbia rejects Kosovo's independence and the EU mission has struggled to deploy in Serb areas where they are viewed as supporters of Kosovo's statehood.
