CAIRO, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Egypt's army said on Monday that Libyan border guards had withdrawn from their side of the border between the two North African states, according to a posting on the army's Facebook page. "Members of the Libyan border guard withdrew from (the Libyan side of the border) and it is currently in the control of people's committees," the statement said, without making clear whether the groups now in control of the border were loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

"They are the ones that control entry and exit to Libya," it said. (Reporting by Tom Perry, Writing by Edmund Blair)
