INDEX-BANK JSC was founded on February 10, 1993 in Lvov as an unofficial bank and registered under the name The Trading bank “Golden Leo”. In November 1993 Bank was reorganized to open Joint-stock company.

On October 28, 1996 Bank changed its name to Joint-stock company Industrial-Export Bank.

On February 10, 2000 banks` main office became in Kiev and the new strategy of Banks` development and its region network, which directed to maximal universalization, spectrum of services spreading, creating a multibranch network of Bank branches for client servicing in all regions of Ukraine was accepted.

The one of the first bank in Ukraine, on April 2000 INDEX-BANK JSC the realization of project “Cars on credit” began and now it is one of the more active and successful banks, engaged in autocrediting. Along with different kinds of credit for legal and physical persons from June 2006 Bank began to grant credits to factories of agrarian sphere within the framework of new projects “Tractor on credit” and “Combine on credit”.

In 2001 Bank took right to provide services in payment of pensions and financial aid.

On February 2002 Index-Bank became an associated member of international payment system Visa International.

In June 2002 IMDEX-BANK became to serve a microprocessor cards Russian payment system “The Gold Crown”.

On October 2003 Bank became an affiliated member of international payment system MasterCard, and got the license to issue MasterCard Gold, Standard and Maestro cards.

At present the regional network INDEX-BANK JSC is including 25 branches and more than 200 divisions in AR Crimea, Vinnitsa, Volin, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhitomir, Zakarpatiye, Zaporozhiye, Ivano-Frankovsk, Kiev, Kirovograd, Lugansk, Lvov, Nikolayev, Odessa, Poltava, Rovno, Sumy, Ternopol, Kharkov, Kherson, Khmelnitsk, Cherkassy, Chernovtsy, Chernigov regions and in Kiev-city.

Almost 3300 employees work in Bank and serve 210000 private customers and 20000 corporate customers.

On August 2006 Group Credit Agricole according to Agreement of purchase and sale became owner 99,967% actions of INDEX-BANK JSC.

After included in group of Credit Agricole, INDEX-BANK international rating Agency of Moody's reported about the increase of ratings INDEX-BANK JSC with "В2" to "Ваа1", and short-term rating for deposits in domestic currency to "Р-2" with "Not-Prime" for deposits in domestic currency.
