From 1991 to 1994 and from 2000 to 2002 was the chairman of Verkhovna Rada.
From May, 2007 the secretary of SNSDU.
The elected representative of I-IV convocations. From 1991 to 1994 and from 2000 to 2004 was the chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. On 1994 was a candidate for the President of Ukraine. Pliusch is honorary chairman of free peasants` and industrialists` Party.
At the parliamentary elections in 2006 was a candidate for #2 in the record of block of Kostenko-Pliusch.
From May to December 2007 was a secretary of SNSDU.
