Yuriy Lutsenko was elected the minister of internal affairs in December, 2007 for the second time.

Lutsenko was elected the minister of internal affairs in 2005, was one ofthe officials whomanaged to keep the post at management of representatives of different political forces. So, the civil minister of power department managed to keep permissions after dissolution of the government of Yulia Tymoshenko, continuing his work at prime minister Ekhanurov and later Yanukovych.

Yuriy Lutsenko - the civil Minister of Internal Affairs first in the history of Ukraine. Nevertheless, since first dayshe proved himself as resolutely adjusted on radical reforms manager.

On the account of minister Lutsenko both structural transformation of GAI and considerable personnel changes in the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Yuriy Lutsenko underlines the determination to relieve national militia of corruption in the list of the most important problems.

He dismissed 2500 militiamen, and criminal charges - from bribery to swindle and kidnapping are shown 1200 employees of the ministry. Because of corruption the state loses billion dollars a year, he says.

Yuriy Lutsenko —an unconditional champion in the authority by quantity of dialogues with mass-media representatives and announced resonant facts compromising representatives of the power.

However, many explain the minister`s skill to communicate as a desire to PR himself and some "sensations" border on disclosure of "investigatory secret". Because of that other representatives of the power often unflatteringly respond about the main militiaman of the country. However, to all attacks Lutsenko answers with the thesis about the transparency of the power and the statement that the public should be well informed about investigation of resonant matters.
