Volodymyr Lytvynis the chairman of People party of Ukraine, the vice-president of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the speaker of theVerhovna Rada of 4th convocation. On the parliamentary elections passed in March Lytvyn headed the National Blok of Lytvyn We which positioned itself as uniting force of Ukraine shattered by political conflicts. But apparently adherents of the blue and orange ribbons tied together were few as to finish of the elective company We came with the result of 2,44 % elective voices without having received necessary 3 %.

Thus, today Lytvyn is out of the official policy but is not going to leave political arena planning to go on working on increasing of rating of the political force headed by him. Besides, Lytvyn during his chat with readers of Ukrainian truth site on July 3rd, 2006 announced his intention to stand for a post of the President of Ukraine in 2009 without having excluded also possibility that these elections can pass ahead of schedule.

Prompt career growth of Lytvyn became possible in many aspects thanks to his acquaintance with Leonid Kuchma who in 1993 being already the ex-prime minister appointed Lytvyn his assistant. After Kuchma was elected the President of Ukraine Vlolodymyr Mihaylovych for a short period headed the President Administration. Close cooperation with Leonid Danilovich introduced to Lytvyn`s biography a number of negative facts as for example involving of the speaker in the sensational cassette scandal connected with promulgation of films of major Melnychenko.

Besides his active political career Lytvyn is engaged also in scientific activity. A historian by education Volodymyr Lytvynis an author of over 270 scientific works and publications among which there is a number of monographies and also the first concept of development of independent Ukraine which in 1995 was defended by Lytvyn as a thesis for doctor's degree.

Volodymyr Lytvyn`s wife Tatyana Konstantinovna (1960 year of birth)is an economist. The spouses have two children – a daughter Elena (1982) and a son Ivan (1989).
