During 14 years Piskun worked in the Office of Public Prosecutor.From 1997 to 2002 was an assistant, thanthe director of the investigation department of the tax policy of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine. At the same time held a position of the vice-chairman of STAU.

In 2002 was ratified a Prosecutor General by the parliament. In October, 2003 on recommendation of the Coordinating Committee on Struggle with Organized Crime and Corruptionwas discharged fromthe post.

On February 14, 2004 Svyatoslav Piskun was appointeda DeputySecretary of the SNBO. On December 10, 2004 Pechersk court of Kiev reinstated him as Prosecutor General. He held this position till 2005.

Since 2006 Piskun isaParty of Regions MP. At that moment he was unemployed.

Honored Lawyer of Ukraine (1998).

Was rewarded withDmitry Solounsky fourth degree order and "Christmas" second degree order.

His wife Svetlana Sevastyanovna (1962) is a pedagogueand abusinesswoman. They have a daughter Tatiana (1983) and a son Sviatoslav (2000).
