Born on November 26, 1963 in Lviv.

Graduated from the pharmaceutical faculty of Lviv Medical Institute.
1997 – graduated from the journalism faculty of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

In 1989 becomes the member of the editorial board of the newspaper Molodaya Ukraina (Young Ukraine). The same year was elected deputy chief of the Independent Ukrainian Youth Union.

1990 – chief editor of the weekly Young nationalist.

January 2002 – chief editor of the weekly Voice of the nations. Took part in Trans-Dnister Conflict.

April 1996 – the author and the host of the TV program Nasha sprava (Our business) on Tabachyk TV channel.

June 2002 – becomes the leader of UNA-UNSO.

2002 – becomes Ukraine MP. Entered BYT fraction.

On 2006 and 2007 elections becomes Ukraine MP again.

In Verkhovna Rada of the VI convocation heads the subcommittee on eurointegration and Euro-Atlantic collaboration of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Almost all his life is connected with politics. He was one of the opponents of the Leonid Kuchma regime.

Shkil was one of the founders of the UNA – Ukrainian National Assembly, he formed the organization Ukrainian National Self Defense, for a long time he was a leader and ideologist of the UNA-UNSO activities. He was an organizer and participant of numerous protest actions and meetings.

On March 9, 2001 UNA-UNSO headed by Andriy Shkil took an active part in the protest action Ukraine without Kuchma. He was arrested for this and spent 13 months in pre-trial prison. Being imprisoned Shkil was elected a Ukraine MP, whereupon he was released. Thanks to this fact Shkil got into the Minister of the Interior "black list" which was submitted by Lutsenko to the Central Election Commission the day before 2006 parliamentary elections. According to this list all the included parliamentary candidates have some convictions on which no decisions were made.

Today Andriy Shkil is no longer the member of the UNA-UNSO. He continues his political career in the party of Yulia Tymoshenko.

Awards: Order of Yaroslav Mudriy (III degree), "Mark of Honour" of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, medal "For Defense of Trans-Dnister".

Hobbies: tennis, billiards, weapons.

Andriy Shkil is married. His wife Zoriana Zinovievna (1968) is a fashion designer.
