Shufrych wasUkraine MP of the 3rd and 4th convocations before the election to the representative body. But last spring 2006 election block NE TAK! which included SDPU(o) couldn’t go through set barrier of the election votes in 3%.

Nestor Shufrych is an extraordinary politician so he is sometimes called “Ukrainian Zhirinovsky” for his speeches.

Shufrych is true to his native Social-democratic party of Ukraine (united).He doesn't change parties like gloves which is peculiar to many Ukrainian politicians.

August 2007 – enteredthe list of the Party of Regions on the pre-term parliament elections.

September 6, 2007 was dismissed from the post of the Ministerof Emergency Situations by the President decree.
