Stanik Suzanna
Born on September 27, 1954 in Lviv.
In 1977 she graduated with honors from the law faculty of Ivan Franko State University in Lviv (specialty of law).
1978-1994 -- Suzanna Stanik held senior positions in the executive branch of the Lviv region and in the office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
1994-1996 - Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine.
September 1996 - August 1997- Minister for Family and Youth.
August 1997 -- May 2002 - Minister of Justice of Ukraine in the three governments in succession (governments of Valery Pustovoitenko, Viktor Yushchenko and Anatoliy Kinakh).
December 2001- March 2004- Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation.
25 March 2004 - she is appointed a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the decree of Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma.
In April 2007 S. Stanik became the centre of grave scandal.She was appointed the speaker in the case of the examination to the constitutionality of President Victor Yushchenko decree to disband the Verkhovna Rada of V convocation.Stanik and two of her colleagues questioned the legality of presidential action. The Head of State team suspected that the judges were bribed, and Victor Yushchenko signed a decree on the dismissal in connection with violation of oath.
Members of the Security Service were examining evidence of possible acts of corruption by the judges.
Almost a year she sought acceptance of the illegality of Yushchenko’s decree in the courts. As a result, in March 2008 the Supreme Court of Ukraine ruled in favor of the dismissed, and the Head of State was obliged to restore her on the previous post. But the next day after "rehabilitation" Yushchenko issued a new decree, which abolished the effect of the decree of his predecessor, Leonid Kuchma, who appointed S. Stanik as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.Motivation: “in connection with the violation of the procedures for the inauguration to the post of the judge”.
