Tabachnik Dmitry
Born on November 26, 1963 in Kiev.
1986 - graduated from National Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev, historical faculty.Doctor of historical sciences, professor, member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
1991-1992 -Principal Consultant of the Committee on Youth, Physical Culture and Sports.
1992-1993 -Head of the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the press secretary of the Cabinet.
1993-1994 -First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine on the press, publishing houses and book distribution. For 2 years was the head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine.
Until 1997 Tabachnyk was the member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Constitutional Commission, presided over a number of consultative and advisory bodies under the President.
Since 1997 for a year worked as an advisor to the head of state.In 1999 he was one of the leaders of the L. Kuchma campaign.
1998-2003 - Ukraine MP of the III and IV convocations.Concurrently holds the position of chief scientific officer of the national minority department of the Institute of National Relationships and Political Science under the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
November 2002 - February 2005 -- as a vice Prime Minister he is in charge of social and humanitarian sphere.
Spring of 2006 - deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
At the preterm parliamentary elections in September 2007 became Ukraine MP of the VI-th convocation.
He is called "a typical representative of the era of Leonid Kuchma".His personal definition of "kuchmizm": "... This is a politically stable regime with elements of authoritarianism, which is characterized by successful reforms and rapid growth of economy and social guarantees. These facts provided the formation and gradual development of civil society for ten years, and turned Ukraine from the de jure state into the de facto state".
D. Tabachnyk advocated expanding the rights of the Russian language in Ukraine. He is among the zealous opponents of joining NATO.
Awarded with the Order of Yaroslav the Wise (V degree) and the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky (III degree), 15 orders and 8 medals from foreign countries.Honored Science and Technology Worker of Ukraine.
Twice the Vice-Premier. Author and co-author of several hundred scientific studies on the history of Ukraine, political and military history, books on social and political issues. Wife - Tatiana Nazarova - an actress of the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theater of Russian Drama.
