Born on August, 9, 1973.

1993 - made his debut at Chervona Ruta music contest.

1996-2004 – holder of the Singer of the year title

2006 - became the People's artist of Ukraine.

While being a kid Ponomaryov went in for sports. At the age of6 he went to boxing section but had to abandonit laterbecause of trauma. After an 8th grade Ponomaryov entered musical school where he received the diploma of conductor -choir-master. Than he continued studying in Kiev musical academy.

The victory in the song contest Chervona Routain 1993 became for Ponomaryov the first stage of ascent to Ukraine's show-business Olympus.

Later Ponomarev for many times repeatedly won different competitions Singer of year, Star of the stage of the year; Idol of nation.

In2003 Alexandr Ponomaryov presentedUkraine at Eurovision misic contest. It was first performance of Ukrainian singer at Eurovision.

Ponomaryov is an official performer of the National Anthem of Ukraine.

After the Orange revolution Ponomaryov was rewaded an Order ofits honourded participant - "for support of the national spirit".

Married, wife Victoria. Has a son Alexandr.
