Oleg Blokhin is a former chief coach of the National football team of Ukraine, a legendary Ukrainian football player, "the Gold ball" owner,Honoured master of sports of the USSR, a forward. Got 432 games in championships. Scored 211 goals into contenders gates. The Sevenfold champion of the USSR, the fivefold owner of the Cup of the USSR, the double owner of the European Cup of Cups, the owner of the Super cup.

But Blokhin`s achievements in the politics are insignificant. In spite of the fact that he managed twice to be elected to the parliament it is impossible his to call political activity active. Blokhin`s attempt to renew his deputy mandate in the Supreme Rada of the 5th convocation was unsuccessful. In March, 2006 Blokhin stood for a People's Deputy of Ukraine from "the Oppositional block NE TAK (is not so)!". Was ¹10 in the list. But the block "NE TAK!" got only 1,01 % of electoral voices.

But as the chief coach of the National football team of Ukraine Oleg Blokhin has reached big success. For the first timein thehistory of the independent Ukraine our team has appeared in the World championship andbecame one of the eight strongest. Itpassed to 1/4 of the Championship.

Oleg Blokhinis the author of the books: "the Goal which I have not scored", "the Right for a goal" (in the co-authorship), "Football examines ", "Football for a whole life" (two editions).

In December, 2007 left the post of the chief coach of the National football team of Ukraine.

Oleg Blokhin was married twice. His first wife – Irina Diryugina – is a well-known Ukrainian sportswoman, the champion of Olympic games in art gymnastics. From his first marriage Oleg Blokhin got an elder daughter Irina (1983). Blokhin`s second wife Angela is 16 years younger than her spouse. Nowthey bring up two daughters – Annya (2001) and Katya (2002).
