Gennady Bogolyubov sacrificed a lot for the sake of acquisition of Consolidated Minerals Ltd, the largest Australian company in the manganese ore mining industry. First of all, the amount of transaction is $1.2 billion. Secondly, the terms of the tender demanded from the applicants an absolute transparency. So the Ukrainian businessman simply had to make the information on his assets public. When Bogolyubov slightly opened a chest with the treasures he gathered, it turned out that he was a multimillionaire on a global level.
Bogolyubov controls two mining companies in South Africa, through his off-shore company, Palmary Enterprises Ltd; he owns the stakes of ferroalloy factories in New Haven (USA), in Zaporizhzhya and Alchevsk. The list of property is long, apart from metallurgical assets, there are oil companies, chemical, food and construction industry enterprises. The list is crowned by Privatbank – the largest financial institution in Ukraine that also operates abroad.
At the end of May another notable event occurred in the career of Bogolyubov. Evraz Group, the largest international metallurgical and mining company, introduced this Dnepropetrovsk multimillionaire into its board of directors. Now this reputable man works side by side with a well-unknown Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, the biggest shareholder of the business concern.
