Vasily Khmelnitskiy is a people’s deputy of Ukraine of the last four convocations. Each time he comes to the parliament with a new political force. Last time he came with the Party of regions, next to last time - with BYUT. Khmelnitskiy is a man with very flexible ideology, but with inflexible character.  But in business, unlike in politics, he strives for solid forms.

His permanent business partner is the president of the Kyiv investment group, a millionaire Andrey Ivanov, (#33). The businessmen control a municipal holding Bread of Kyiv, that includes Kyiv Bread and Kyivmlin companies. Khmelnitskiy also controls a Biofarm factory, which is the only producer of specific immunoglobulins.

In addition, Melitopol businessman controls a Lisichansk factory called Proletarian, which is a monopolist in sheet glass production. Taking into account the construction boom that entirely covered Ukraine, this asset is literally a golden one. Only the land in the capital is more expensive than that, and Khmelnitskiy, along with Ivanov, owns hundreds of hectares of it.
