Ukraine's leading English-language newspaper since 1995

The finals of the Kyiv Post Soccer League 2009 were held on July, 5. The annual tournament is in its 10th year, featuring teams from different companies.

This year, 12 teams took part: Premier Palace, Charivna podorozh, Quintailes Ukraine, Pivko, Biakom, ProstoFinance, AIS, Triod, Orbita, 1 1 Studio, Colgate Palmolive and, of course, the Kyiv Post. The well-attended matches took place at Bannikova Stadium. Umpires from the Kyiv Football Federation served as referees. Prize cups were awarded for the first, second and third place.

The tournament was played on a round-robin basis in three groups: A, B, and C, with four teams in each of them. The teams who advance to semi-final rounds of competition are those who scored the highest and second-highest number of points in each of the three groups.

The winners are: first place – AIS, second place – Orbita and third place – Premier Palace. Outstanding players were: best player – Mr. Andriy Kolesnik (Charivna podorozh), best goalkeeper – Mr. Aleksandr Shulga (ProstoFinance), best forward – Mr. Sergei Petrisko (Biakom), best defender – Mr. Yaroslav Zavorotny (Orbita).
