Kyiv Post Soccer League 2010 winners awarded!

The winners of the Kyiv Post Soccer League 2010 received awards in Avalon entertainment complex (3 Leontovicha Street) in Kyiv on July 13. The 10th annual Kyiv Post Soccer League tournament ended on June 27. For the first time, the event was supported by the Football Federation of Kyiv. Special thanks to Igor Kochetov of FFK.


Igor Kochetov (the President of FFK) and Jim Phillipoff (Media Director of ISTIL Group) handed the awards to winners.

A total of 16 teams competed for four shining trophies. The list of lucky winners who took the special cups home included ISTIL Group (1st place), owned by Kyiv Post publisher Mohammad Zahoor (left); UNIQA team (2nd place); Arsenal-Sandora (3rd place); and ProFin Bank (4th place).

The special award for Fair Play was given to Alcatel-Lucent team for receiving the smallest number of yellow and red cards, and good sportsmanship.
The best players of the tournament were also encouraged with special awards. Oleksiy Sulima of Arsenal-Sandora was named the Best Forward, while Vitaliy Voronkov and Taras Shpychka, both of ISTIL Group, received Best Goalkeeper and Best Player awards, respectively.

No player left without a trophy, however. The League’s prize partner, Zelmer, a Polish appliance company, encouraged them with gifts of floor scales, hair dryers, clippers, thermoses, tea kettles and other goods. Guests of the award ceremony were entertained by the singer Kamaliya, wife of the Kyiv Post publisher.


Kamaliya, the 2008 Mrs. World, was singing to the winners and guests.

Kyiv Post Soccer League 2010 description:

Venue: Bannikova Stadium, 7A Laboratorny Lane (artificial field, outdoor).
Date & Time: June 05 – June 27. On weekends - 4 matches every Saturday / Sunday.
Match duration: 2 halves of 25 min each, 5-min break.
Referee: Each match is judged by one referee.
Medical assistance: Sports doctor is present at the field.
Teams: 16 teams, divided into 4 groups.
Number of players on the field: 5 players + 1 goalkeeper (mini-football format).
