EU wants to participate in Transdniestrian conflict settlement more actively

Chisinau, November 19 (Interfax) - The European Commission has developed a package of socioeconomic measures to improve confidence between Moldova and Transdniestria, Hugues Mingarelli, Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for External Relations (DG RELEX) in the European Commission, said on Wednesday.

"The European Union wants to participate more efficiently and actively in the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict," Hugues Mingarelli told Moldovan Foreign Minister Andrei Stratan.

"The population of Transdniestrian region will get a direct advantage" from the introduction of the projects developed by the European Commission, he said. "These projects seek to modernize the society and mitigate the fallout after the war," he said.

Stratan thanked the European Commission for the development of these measures. These measures "will extend the initiatives of Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin and will be carefully considered by the Moldovan authorities," he said.

The only basis for Moldova\'s claim on Transnistria is the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Why, in the 21st century, is the West trying to enforce a secret deal between Hitler and Stalin? The only possible settlement is for Moldova to renounce their bogus claims on their neighbour\'s territory.

Transnistria will never join Moldova because the Moldovan government condones and participates in kidnapping ethnic Russian and Ukrainian girls in Moldova to force them into prostitution as sex slaves. Keeping the ethnic slavic birthrate down through human trafficking is the Moldovan government\'s method of ethnic cleansing. Transnistrians naturally don\'t want their daughters forced into sex slavery and so will never join Moldova.
