Parubiy elected Rada’s first vice speaker, Samopomich member of parliament Syroid becomes first female vice speaker

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved People’s Front MP, ex-secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy for the post of first deputy speaker and Samopomich Union MP Oksa

A total of 313 MPs voted for this decision on Thursday evening, Dec. 4.

For the first time in the history of independent Ukraine, a woman was elected as the vice speaker of parliament.
